Land Use Vision = Quality Economic Development Projects

The Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a series of members issue forums about Muskegon’s main corridor, Business 31. Enhancement of the spine that links the Muskegon Area north to south, Business 31, has been the subject of several project charrettes conducted by the American Institute of Architects and local teams of planners and citizens.

Thank you to everyone that was able to attend. In the series of three meetings, representatives from the business community and public officials had the opportunity to learn about future improvements, discuss entry way features, enhancements and transportation trends, provide feedback and ask questions from industry experts, Progressive AE.

We need to continue the dialogue on this important topic and look forward to the conversations and results that will follow.

Quick Background on the WMRUD Charrettes in 2005 & 2007. These were done at no cost to the municipalities, all donated by the Grand Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Each charrette included more than one municipality, and were perfomed at the same time and location with sites in Holland and Grand Rapids to help create a "regional mindset", as described by the West Michigan Strategic Alliance.
These PowerPoints were designed to help those in these communities as a means of discussing their futures around topics and ideas captured. There is no copyright or cost to use or edit and build upon the work within. They do not provide solutions, rather, ideas and observations for deeper consideration and study by the communities.
Presently there are no future WMRUD Charrettes planed by AIAGV.
